The experience
A guided breathwork workshop with live music and community. Magic Breathwork combines conscious breathing, body awareness, and mindfulness. We begin together in circle, introduce the practices, and guide you into a breathwork journey supported by music.
You’re invited to notice your body, explore emotions as they arise, and turn your attention inward. No previous breathwork experience is needed. We’ll explain the practices and support you throughout, with space to move at your own pace.
Magic can be found in sitting in circle with others, going inward with music and breath, and the optional support of plant medicines where permitted. Joining with breath and music alone is equally welcome.
The experience is supported by a live set by DJ Nahuel, who weaves ambient, electronic, and acoustic sounds into an immersive soundtrack for your inward journey.

Safety
Breathwork safety
Breathwork is very safe for most people, but it is intense and not for everyone. Fast, deep breathing can raise your heart rate and blood pressure, and bring tingling, cramping and strong emotion.
Please skip the breathwork if you have:
- High blood pressure that is not controlled with medication
- Heart disease, or a past heart attack
- An aneurysm, or more than one in your close family
- A history of stroke, seizures, epilepsy or TIAs
- Blood thinners
- Glaucoma or a detached retina
- Recent surgery, or an injury that has not healed
- Pregnancy
Asthma? You are welcome to breathe: keep your inhaler with you.
You can always join the journey with the music and a gentle breath instead. When in doubt, ask your doctor or write to us. Please also read our Journey safety guide.
Kind words
In their words
This was my first breathwork session and I did not know what to expect. The music was so in tune with the journey, and the breathing coaching helped keep us going and set the pace. Javi and Seba provide a safe, grounding space to really take this journey deep.
The second time I was able to go deeper, since I already had some background. When we were done breathing, I remember wishing there was another round. Big, big tears came as a release for me. I've been carrying a heavy load every day and it was amazing to carve out some time for me in a community setting.
The guidance and support throughout was incredible. The music and your words with the breathwork carried me to a different existence.

Questions
How is my place confirmed?
Book, fill in the short confidential safety form, and pay: your place is confirmed right away. Javi and Seba read every form, and only they see it. If something in yours is worth a conversation, we will reach out for a short call before the event. If together we decide it is not the right time, we will move you to a later date or refund you.
Is breathwork safe for me?
Breathwork is very safe for most people, but it is not for everyone. Please read Breathwork safety on this page and our Journey safety guide before booking. If you are not sure, write to us first. You are always welcome to journey with the music instead of the breath.
What kind of breathwork is it?
Circular, rhythmic breathing: faster and deeper breaths with no pause between them. You stay in control of the depth and intensity, and can soften your breath at any moment. We teach and practice the technique together before the journey.
Will I lose control?
It is possible to have an intense or anxious moment, but we rarely see it with this setting and protocol. You set the pace of your breath. You can slow down, sit up or step out at any time, and if you raise a hand one of us will come to you.
How do consent and touch work?
We always ask before any touch, and you can say no at any time. What is shared in the circle stays in the circle, and there are no photos or recordings.
How do I get there?
Root and Bloom Institute, 2307 Sixth St, Berkeley, CA 94710. Please plan not to drive after the journey: public transport or a ride home is best. If you do drive, park west of Sixth Street. There are no stairs, and the entrance and restrooms are accessible. Your confirmation email has what to bring and how to prepare.
What happens after the circle?
An online integration session on Zoom the following week, included in your ticket. It is optional: a space to share what came up and bring it into daily life. The link comes by email.
Can I cancel?
Tickets are non-refundable. If something comes up, write to javi@greenmagicyoga.com and we will do our best to help.
Is there a sliding scale?
Yes. The ticket is $200, or $150 early bird until one week before the circle with code MBW-EARLY. Our sliding scale page lists more discount codes you can use without asking, and how to request a donation-based spot.
